In my old Clarion NX702, map is located in the micro SD Card and the HU has another SD port to save songs or videos in another SD Card. If I can find a way to access the location of map files, I think I could save an openstreetmap file.

yeah I installed one of these last weekend, with the bluetooth adapter KCE-400bt, and it really works nice, I wish alpine would have put some more things into the unit software like custom backgrounds, the ability to change the color of the hard buttons, other than that everything seems to work nice, I have noticed that the nav seems too have a hard time changing, from night mode to day time ...

The rear view camera is also very very good. I haven't used the Nav but from what I've seen the map is much nicer than the OEM stuff in my 2015 GMC truck. SQ through the digital connection sounded better than analog in to the Helix from my Pioneer P99rs. I put a SIM card in it and directly stream Tidal and XM radio at high fidelity.
you lose the map pocket completely. you then install a circle as large as you can fit without interferring with the active parts of the door. the handle, the lower boundary, and the section that contacts the dashboard. the trick is that the hoop shouldnt stick out any farther than the OEM pod does.
